Born in Akita Prefecture. Graduated from Akita University, Faculty of Education and Culture in 2007 after attending Akita High School; completed postgraduate studies at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 2009; second prize in the tuba section of the 24th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition in 2007; Grand Prix at the 21st Omagari New Music Festival in 2009; third prize in the tuba section of the Jeju International Brass Competition (South Korea) in 2010; first prize and the Jury's Special Prize at the 27th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition in 2010. In 2010, he won the first prize and the Jury's Special Prize in the tuba section of the 27th Japan Winds and Percussion Competition. Studied tuba under Takayuki Ikeda, Jun Sugiyama and Eiichi Inagawa, and chamber music under Satoshi Kamiya and Toshio Itakura. Currently a tuba player with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, member of the Zurasian Brass, Brass Ensemble ZERO Tokyo and YMO Trio, and part-time lecturer at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music and Showa University of Music.
