Malcolm Mcnab

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he moved with his parents to California as a child. He began studying the trumpet at the age of 9, joined the Pasadena Symphony Orchestra at 15 and toured the U.S. for 8 weeks with the San Francisco Ballet.

After playing in hotel orchestras in the Catskills, he moved to Maine to tour for a year with a Young Audience brass quintet.

He played in film and TV studios from the 1970s onwards. He has played in California symphonies and more than 2,000 film and TV scores for nearly 50 years. He has taught students all over the world, including Ireland, the UK, Hungary, Holland, Sweden, China, Japan and Scotland. He traveled with Frank Zappa in the early 1970s.
