Born in Chiba. Graduated from Tokyo College of Music at the top of his class as a special student. Performed at the University's Newcomer's Concert, the Yamaha Newcomer's Concert and the Nichi-En-Ren Recommended Newcomer's Concert. Completed the highest degree course at the Conservatoire National de Musique de Versailles, France, as an overseas trainee of the Agency for Cultural Affairs, with top honours. First prize and special prize at the 30th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition. First Asian winner of the ITEC International Solo Competition in the USA; also participated in the PMF and the Affinis Music Festival. After working with the Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, he is currently active as a freelance guest performer in Japan and Asia. He has also made guest appearances with the Orchestre de Paris and the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also performed as a soloist with the New Japan Philharmonic, Chiba Symphony Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra and others. He has also been invited to give recitals and master classes in Asia and the USA. He gives lessons for Band Journal magazine. Appeared on NHK FM Recital Nova. Released a solo CD 'Evidence'.
