Norito Usui

Born in Tokyo, started playing the tuba at the age of 12. Graduated from Tokyo College of Music. Performed in the Rainbow 21 Suntory Hall Debut Concert organised by Suntory Hall, and participated in the Saitokinen Chamber Music Study Group in 2011. Performed in the Saitokinen Festival in Matsumoto 'Opera for Youth'. Finalist in the 7th Jeju International Brass&Percussion Competition (South Korea). Performed E. Boza's Small Concerto for Tuba and Orchestra with the local orchestra. Second prize at the 10th Romanian International Music Competition; third prize at the Singapore low brass festival 2016 open solo competition. First student of the Wind Orchestra Academy of the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space. Member of Tokyo Bright Brass Quintet, BRASSNEX and Seoul Chamber Brass. He has studied tuba under Shinsuke Tanaka and Tetsuya Otsuka.Tuba player with the KBS Symphony Orchestra.
